Zoning Hearing Board

The Zoning Hearing Board consists of three residents who serve the Township on a voluntary basis and are appointed by the Board of Supervisors, each serving a three year, staggered term. The purpose of The Zoning Hearing Board is to help assure fair and equitable application and the administration of the zoning ordinance by hearing appeals of the zoning officer’s decisions and by granting relief from literal enforcement of the ordinance in certain situations. The Board is a judicial body and may not make or modify zoning policy. The Board schedules hearings on applications and appeals, and hears evidence and issues written decisions or findings of fact.

Public meetings are held every third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. as required by applications for appeals, in the Township Building. These meetings are advertised in a local newspaper when they are to be held. Hearings are heard in the meeting room at the Police Dept. building, 3112 Bedminster Road.
